Cashew in Bataan…

If you happen to be at Gov. J.J. Linao National Road in Morong Bataan, you will pass by a lot of cashew nuts vendors along the road. They have delicious and crunchy cashew nuts. The nuts are bigger than the normal size that we can buy in Antipolo Rizal.

We bought at Willy’s Cashew nuts in Morong, Bulacan Philippines.

You could also try their cashew butter. The texture is like peanut butter but you can really taste the goodness of the cashew nuts.

I personally like this cashew butter and cant help to go back for more.

Wanna Try?

Replica of Our Lady of Lourdes

In San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan Philippines

We went to the Grotto of Lourdes in San Jose del Monte. This shrine is an exact replica of the Lourdes Grotto in France. It also features a mock hill Calvary where life-sized statues depict the passion and death of Jesus Christ. Behind the fascinating architecture inspired by the famous Lourdes Grotto in France is a story of faith and miracle.

Visita Iglesia 2011

Which means Church Visit, the tradition of visiting seven churches on Holy Thursday is an ancient practice, probably originating in Rome, where early pilgrims visited the seven pilgrim churches as penance. In Philippines, some people expand it to include fourteen churches and say the Stations of the Cross, with one station in each church.

We opted to visit Seven (7) churches in Manila City.

The Binondo Church - Minor Basilica of San Lorenzo Ruiz (Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Parish)

Established: 1587

Did you know?
Saint Lorenzo Ruiz (1600 –1637), served at the convent of Binondo church as an altar boy.
The octagonal bell tower is all that remains of the 16th century construction.

The Aguinaldo Shrine

This is a national shrine of the Philippines that is located in Kawit, Cavite.

The house was first built in 1845 and is the ancestral home of Emilio Aguinaldo, the first president of the First Republic of the Philippines. It was here where the Philippine Independence from Spain was proclaimed (right at the center window of the house) on June 12, 1898.

In addition, it was here where the Philippine Flag was first raised formally and the Philippine National Anthem was also played (the lyrics were subsequently written in 1899 by José Palma)

Emilio Aguinaldo was born here on March 22, 1869 and behind the mansion is his tomb. He died of coronary thrombosis on February 6, 1964. You should visit this historical place and warp back in time. Then see the beauty and richness of Filipino’s way of life during that time.
