First Time Skiing

This is our first time to ski. Skiing is a recreational activity using skis as equipment for traveling over snow. Skis are used in conjunction with boots that connect to the ski with use of a binding. We went to a Ski Resort in Nagano, Japan  for our first time ski.

It is a little bit difficult to learn for first timers even if you are a sporty person just like me.

Here is the basic checklist needed for your first time lesson on skiing.
  • Skis
  • Ski boots
  • Goggles – optional (consider over-the-glasses goggles if you wear eyeglasses)
  • Ski Poles
  • Ski clothing – Make sure that you have appropriate clothes that will keep you both warm and dry.
  • Ski Instructor – The most important

Since this is your first time, you may rent ski clothing, gear, skis and boots. There is no point in investing in expensive equipment until you are sure this is the sport for you.

Start first from a fairly inclined flat area to learn the basics. Learn how to balance and then how to make a stop. Make sure to be very careful. Practice, practice and practice…

For quick learners, you may take this ski lift to take you to higher grounds.

We just tried and enjoyed this skiing fun experience.

How to get there?
From Tokyo, take the Shinkansen Line to Nagano Prefecture. Disembark at Nagano station then ride a bus going to the ski resort.
